So…

...Hamlet 2 turns out to be The Sin of Harold Diddlebock, only with a high school drama teacher. And directed by Andrew Fleming, who is bipolar in his awesome, but this is one of his awesome ones. And written by Pam Brady from South Park, who should get to write more movies. Also, Steve Coogan. And Elisabeth Shue, playing like this Xanadu version of a muse version of herself.

In other words, it's hilarious and totally worth watching.

  • I was really surprised this didn't do better in the theaters.

I dunno, I mean, it's got a bunch of high school kids doing a musical number called "Raped In the Face" in the finale. That's not the kind of movie I expect to see doing loads of business.

    Still hysterical, though.

  • I didn't think it would be some kind of moneymaker but I was surprised that it didn't really develop any sort of cult movie following. It just seemed to have all the makings of a cult film. Maybe now that it's on video it will though who knows.

  • I clicked on one of the articles to see if it game more specifics about what rights was keeping EMI from allowing them to release this album. I assume one or more of these artists are on EMI with an exclusive contract and this is being released on another . . . ? With current technology, obviously, there's not much EMI can do here.

I wonder sometimes with modern technology what's the point of record companies anymore. Will they just go the way of the dinosaurs or will they take on a new form?

They could have taken whatever stick is up their ass out and made money with everybody else. Instead, they are cut out, and the record's selling, anyway.

    Ha-ha.

Indie producer/musician who went superstar pro a few years back by making the most popular illegal remix album ever. You've almost definitely heard something by him, this song, at least, since it was freaking everywhere a few years ago:

  • Actually, no, never heard that before (or at least not that I consciously recall). I had heard about the Grey Album and associated stuff (though second-or-third hand), and ignored it because "rap" and "hip-hop": meh.
